Process

How Heave-Ho Runs Power Plant Work

Four steps from the first call to the cleared site. Same approach on every power plant dispatch from three yards.

Confirm The Lift Plan

Send the equipment specs, the plant address, the gate access requirements, and the outage window. We confirm the right boom truck, the operator's credentials, and outrigger placement before scheduling the dispatch.

Roll The Truck

Boom truck arrives inside your outage window. Through the gate with paperwork ready, outriggers down, ground bearing checked, rigging staged with your plant crew. No surprises on site.

Make The Lift

NCCCO operator runs the lift from the truck. Equipment, motor, or transformer support set in the install position. Plant crew handles the install and tie in.

Clear The Site

Outriggers up, truck out, plant gate cleared. Lift plan documented, COI confirmed, invoice follows the work.

Power Plant Crane Questions

Common questions about boom truck lifts for power plants and utilities on the Gulf Coast.

Do your operators have credentials for secure plant access?

Yes. Operators with current NCCCO certification, OSHA 10/30 training, and drug and background test paperwork on file are available for plant entry. Send the plant's contractor requirements and we'll match a qualified operator. TWIC available on request for plants requiring it.

Can you work outage windows and plant shutdowns?

Yes. Most power plant equipment work runs on a planned outage window. Tell us the outage start and end and we schedule the dispatch inside it. We have run weekend, night, and holiday outage windows.

What about transformer and motor lifts?

Our 18 to 40 ton boom trucks handle most commercial transformer support work and motor lifts. For oversized transformers or generator stators, we coordinate the lift in sections or work with a sub crane. Send the equipment specs and we confirm the right approach.

Can you work substation and utility yard sites?

Yes. Substations, utility yards, and switching stations need crane work for equipment swaps and pole sets. Send the access requirements and any clearance limitations like live equipment or overhead lines and we confirm the right boom truck.

What does insurance and COI look like for utility work?

We carry general liability and commercial auto coverage with limits sized for utility and power plant contractor work. We name your company as additional insured on a per job basis at no extra cost. COI requests come back the same business day.
